"The works of Carmen Gonzalez are depictions of the artists subconscious; her soft focus offset by brilliant color, in moody, even brooding settings.  This is in sharp contrast with the pedestrian notion that photograph are artifacts of reality, a record of the physical world.  Gonzalez speaks in-depth about the motivation of the artist to leave their mark on the world through the objects that survive them.  Considering this mindset, it is a safe bet that the legacy Gonzalez leaves through her photographs is one of emotion, intuition, sentiment, and subjective hopes rather than an objective representation of the physical.
